Uncle Hermie is a new series for thriller Mysteries with Mort.
The death of a Mafia don’s son in a suspicious automobile accident sets in motion an extortion and a pregnancy attempt with the dead son’s sperm. Uncle Hermie manages the Hermanson Funeral Home trying to teach his nephew Benjamin (Mort to his friends) to be frugal, professional, and how to upsell a jeweled urn. One of Mort’s friends is involved in the extortion and the other is involved with the IVF effort and both activities have major setbacks including Sherrif Rawlins and a mafia hit man. Uncle Hermie tries to save his favorite watering hole, the Haufbrau House, enjoy a romantic(?) picnic driving the hearse, keep his nephew out of jail while dealing with exotic final arrangements and a cranky neighbor intent on shutting down the funeral home’s crematorium. Being a small- town mortician has never been so challenging or so funny.
